FC EDA comfortably defeated Bundesfinanzen 4-1 in a friendly match as part of their preparations for the second half of the season.
The match kicked off under bright conditions, with the away team starting proceedings. EDA immediately asserted dominance, earning a corner in the 2nd minute. The resulting set-piece, delivered expertly by Till, found Marian, who confidently headed the ball home in the 3rd minute to open the scoring.
Continuing their strong start, FC EDA maintained good possession and created multiple early opportunities. In the 5th minute, Larry nearly capitalised on a loose opposition pass, forcing a clearance by the opposing goalkeeper. Shortly thereafter, Larry laid off the ball to Zierski after an excellent ball from Jason, but Zierski’s shot went narrowly wide.
In the 8th minute, another chance came from a free kick by Till, with Zierski’s header safely caught by the keeper. Two minutes later, Till himself had an opportunity to double the lead but stumbled at the critical moment. Zierski swiftly took advantage, but his shot lacked accuracy. Further chances by Larry in the 13th minute and a set-up from Larry to Zierski in the 14th minute showcased FC EDA’s attacking intent.
The opposition briefly threatened in the 15th minute but saw their attempt sail over the bar. FC EDA responded with increased pressure, with Aaron firing from a distance straight into the keeper's hands in the 23rd minute. Marian then crucially intercepted a dangerous through ball from the away team in the 26th minute.
EDA’s second goal came in the 27th minute when Till fired a spectacular shot into the upper right corner from just outside the box, further solidifying EDA’s control of the game—a tactical substitution followed in the 29th minute, with Cornelius coming on for Zierski.
Shortly after the second half began, Cornelius nearly added a third goal, but the opposition goalkeeper impressively saved his attempt in the 49th minute. However, FC EDA’s persistence paid off, with Larry providing an excellent assist to Alex, who finished confidently in the 51st minute, making it 3-0.
Further opportunities were created, notably by Nick’s excellent distribution in the 63rd and 65th minutes, although FC EDA couldn't capitalise on these moments. Chances came thick and fast in the second half as both teams began to tire. Despite a late consolation goal from Bundesfinanzen in the 88th minute, FC EDA comfortably secured a 4-1 victory, completing an impressive performance in their friendly match.
