The less said about this opening period the better! Just before half time, to the delight of the gathered supporters, Gamma leaped high to reach a corner from Theiler and directed the ball past the keeper. 2:1 at halftime, a glimmer of hope for FC EDA. Fortunately for FC EDA, Raphael Strausak, and not Charles Dickens, addressed the team at half time with constructive criticism and poetic words of encouragement. This truly was a tale of two halves as FC EDA dominated the 2nd half from the very first moment and it took just 4 minutes to level the game. Aeschbacher collected a cut back from Aron Affolter and planted the ball into the empty goal. A very well worked move direct from the training ground. SC ewb 22 were now on the ropes and every attack was yielding goal chances for FC EDA with Michel and Viana coming very close. From another corner we took the lead. Till Affolter delivered a dipping cross to the unstoppable Viana who, on his 30th Birthday, squeesed the ball into the goal through an almost impossible space between the defender and the goal post. After this FC EDA switched into cruise control, Büschi was dominating on the left and when slim chances fell to ewb, Lüthi and Theiler were on hand to deal with any danger. After a long clearance from Stauffacher who was a ever solid in goal, Aeschbacher dribbled his marker easily before releasing Jonas Affolter clean through on goal. Two goals in two games for our man on fire. We must congratulate ewb on a competitive game where slim margins ultimately made the difference. 4:2 the game finished and it was poetic justic for a team in need of a confidence boost following a defeat and ahead of the Swiss Championship at the Sportplatz Bodenweid this Saturday at 09:00.
