Meisterschaft: FC EDA 3 – 1 Dynamo Marta CF

FC EDA is back on track! With exactly one week passed after the last game against Dynamo Marta (2-1) and consequently relegation to the last League position, FC EDA touch the pitch with a severely wounded pride and knowing that this game was must-win. Under an unusual heat (over 30Cª) and on a stiff dry pitch a game of sacrifice and teamwork was expected. Due to several absences, FC EDA present itself with two options on the bench only, inclusive a coach staff member, the lionhearted Strausak. The match started with FC EDA assuming the game reins, emerging the first goal chance through Viana, that receiving a throw in, manage to gain space in the box for a shoot that the keeper avoided, followed by some close chances near the guest team nets, the goal seems to be near. Around 19', Flühmann with a precise 5m pass isolates Viana that makes the first for FC EDA. Shortly after bad news for FC EDA, MacAodha with a unfortunate ball dispute gets injured (fast recover mate!) and had to substituted by Kronenberg, obligating von Ballmoos to assume MacAodha duties in the defense inner center. The home team, regardless the warm, kept the pace, searching to dilate the advantage, lesson learn from recent games. Soon after, with a deadly pass between Dynamo Marta defenders Viana sets Flühmann with only the goalie on his way, what it looked like a certain goal for our steel nerves striker, but unfortunately the goalie avoided the shot, rebounding the ball to Viana that with a second shot attempt allow the keeper to save the goal, once again. Few minutes passed, and Till Affolter with a well-directed corner serves Flühmann, that concludes with a header into the goal, the 2-0 was made. Although, Dynamo had still a word to say just before the half-time and through a corner, a confused air ball dispute results in a rebound ball on the second post, seized by the Dynamo player that did not wasted, establishing the 2-1. The second-half begun with a Dynamo Marta more aggressive and willing, causing some troubles in FC EDA defense in the first minutes, enough to wake up the home team, as a reminder of the last unsuccessful matches. Starting to feel the consequences of the extreme weather conditions, the team has to stick as one, with mutual help between sectors held the opponent attack attempts. The game was disputed mainly in center of the pitch, with the ball far from both goals was necessary to wait almost half an hour for a goal chance. After a good midfield combination the ball ends up in the right wing, carried by Flühmann, that with a flat and precise cross directed to Kronenberg, that in a great position couldn’t finalize it into the goal. Shortly after, was Regez turn, missing a header by few inches in an extreme good position to score. The game was finally sentence 5’ to the final whistle, with a great long range shoot from Till Affolter, well assisted by Flühmann. When the long-awaited whistle sounds FC EDA players knew immediately the importance of this result to the team just before the summer break. With restored confidence and some injuries healed a better second League round performance is expected, serving this game team spirit as a role model, nevertheless, a respect word must be put on Dynamo Marta, that with the proper conviction can present one of the best middle-attack line on our league. 19’ Viana (Flühmann) 40’ Flühmann (T.
