FC EDA started the match strongly, controlling possession and confidently playing out from the back while finding spaces between the lines. Their attacking threat mainly came down the right side, with several dangerous through balls played over the top to Marian. Throughout the first half, FC EDA looked the better side and created the more promising opportunities.
EDA also began the second half well, but gradually lost composure as the game progressed. A defensive misunderstanding led to an undeserved opening goal for Bern United. Shortly afterwards, Bern United doubled their lead with a well-taken strike from outside the box.
Despite the setback, FC EDA continued to push forward and created more good attacking moves, once again with Marian causing problems down the right flank. However, EDA were unable to find the final touch needed to convert their chances.
